Death Bed: A Lost Cult Classic
The December issue includes three festival reports. Still reeling after the release of his latest co-authored book, Sex and Violence, Roberto Curti reports on the always eventful San Sebastian Horror and Fantasy Film Festival. Offscreen welcomes first-time writer Andrea Huck as she catches up with the 4th Calgary International Film Festival, and regular contributor Peter Rist concentrates on the Asian cinemas featured at this past edition of the Montreal World Film Festival. In the spirit of summation, Daniel Garrett collectively analyzes a group of films released in Autumn 2003 in which we can see a “broadening of male sensibility.” The issue concludes with a review of the rare, soon-to-become cult classic Death Bed, recently released on DVD by Cult Epics.
