J. Simpson lives in the interzone between criticism and creativity, idealistically believing that great art makes the world a better place to live. Specializing in "dark," avant-garde, and experimental art, J believes there's more to the world than meets the eye and more to life than chasing the bottom line. He's published chapters on horror and the Gothic with Palgrave, Routledge, and Taylor & Francis as well as publishing regularly at a handful of publications, including PopMatters where he's a regular contributor.
